Elementary MAP Data Analysis (Grades 2–5)

From 2023 to 2025, elementary MAP scores demonstrate steady and intentional growth across all four tested subjects: Math, Reading, Science, and Language Usage. This growth reflects strong instructional practices, curriculum alignment, and effective use of formative assessments.

Math

  • RIT scores improved consistently by an average of 5–6 points annually.

  • Foundational numeracy and operations with base 10 are strong.

  • Continue spiral review strategies and real-world math integration through STEM projects.

Reading

  • Average RIT gains were 3–5 points per year.

  • Comprehension and vocabulary acquisition are strengths.

  • Increase differentiated guided reading sessions and monitor Lexile levels quarterly.

Science

  • Scores grew at a moderate rate of 4–5 points annually.

  • Scientific reasoning and Earth science strands showed gains.

  • Add inquiry-based experiments and science-literacy units.

Language Usage

  • Gains averaged 2–4 points yearly.

  • Grammar and punctuation improving steadily.

  • Expand writing initiatives and emphasize editing skills.

 

Secondary MAP Data Analysis (Grades 6–10)

Secondary MAP data from 2023 to 2025 shows consistent academic progress. The data suggest effective implementation of subject-specific interventions and differentiation.

 

Math

  • Annual growth of 4–6 RIT points per grade level.

  • Algebraic reasoning and functions performing above average.

  • Increase usage of diagnostic software and peer tutoring.

Reading

  • Steady 3–5 point increases annually.

  • Inferential thinking and textual analysis improved.

  • Build critical reading skills through interdisciplinary content.

Science

  • Growth of 3–5 points annually, especially in life sciences.

  • Lab-based inquiry and scientific method use improving.

  • Expand STEM challenges and lab resources.

Language Usage

  • Moderate gains of 2–4 points annually with plateau in Grade 9.

  • Writing structure and thesis development need support.

  • Continue structured writing frameworks and introduce portfolios.

 

Schoolwide Recommendations

  • Incorporate weekly data review meetings for teachers.

  • Implement student goal-setting conferences using MAP reports.

  • Launch a Parent Learning Series to support families with MAP data.
